Relevant work experience in a scientific or resources industry context can also support non-standard applications at many providers.
International students are required to demonstrate English language proficiency, typically through IELTS with an overall score of at least 6.5 and no individual band below 6.0, or equivalent results in TOEFL, PTE, or Cambridge assessments. Mathematics prerequisites are particularly important — students who do not meet the required level may be able to complete additional mathematics units in their first year to fulfil this requirement.
