The curriculum goes well beyond general English, concentrating on academic literacy including essay and report writing, understanding and producing academic texts, note-taking from lectures, seminar presentations, critical thinking, research skills, referencing conventions, and academic integrity. Delivered by CRICOS-registered providers — including private English language colleges, TAFE institutes, and university language centres — EAP courses run for 10 to 20 weeks (or longer depending on provider) at an intensive 20 hours per week of face-to-face study, Monday to Friday.
