Yes, this course is eligible for Free TAFE. Eligible Victorian students who elect to use their Free TAFE opportunity will not incur any tuition fees, however material and resource fees still apply. To be eligible for a Free TAFE place in this course, you must have completed Certificate III in Information Technology.
If you are not eligible for Free TAFE, fees vary by rate: Concession Tuition is AUD $1.68 per hour (indicative total AUD $1,428.00), Standard Tuition is AUD $8.39 per hour (indicative total AUD $7,132.00), and Full Fee Tuition is AUD $13.33 per hour (indicative total AUD $11,330.00), based on 850 indicative course hours. Additional costs include Materials (AUD $560.00), Education Levy (AUD $127.50), and Equipment Levy (AUD $250.00).
Students will need to provide a portable storage device — a solid state drive with a minimum of 500GB. It is highly recommended that students have internet access at home and access to a home computer or laptop with a minimum of 16GB RAM to undertake self-paced learning. Students may also need a camera for Zoom and a headset with a microphone for online learning.
The indicative 2026 class schedule is: Tuesday 9.00am–5.30pm (on-campus), Wednesday 9.00am–5.00pm (on-campus), and Thursday 9.00am–3.30pm (on-campus). Please note that class times are indicative only and are subject to change.
Yes, the course is available as a traineeship with a duration of 24 months full-time. The traineeship program is designed for students who are currently employed under a signed training contract in an ICT or cyber-related role, are working part-time or full-time while undertaking structured training, and have completed Certificate III in Information Technology or have equivalent workplace experience. To become a trainee, you will first need to find an employer willing to employ you.
