About This Course

Combine your interest in sport with the knowledge and understanding of how cells, organ systems and the body, respond to exercise and nutrition through a degree in exercise and sports science. Bond's Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science looks at the science of human movement and how it relates to performance and sport at the highest levels. From day one, you will dive deep into human anatomy, exercise and sport physiology, exercise biochemistry and molecular biology, biomechanics, motor learning and control, and exercise and sport psychology. Engage with and deliver a wide range of athlete testing, performance analysis, exercise prescription and delivery for healthy individuals and non-athletes, as well as strength and conditioning programs for elite athletes. The program is delivered at the Bond Institute of Health & Sport where there is the potential to observe and work with elite athletes and professional state, national and international teams who come to use the Institute's High-Performance Training Centre. Adding to the hands-on nature of your learning experience, you will complete a minimum of 140 hours of placements in a variety of national and international sport, exercise, fitness, and healthcare environments, providing you with valuable work experience before commencing your career.

Entry Requirements

General Requirements

ATAR: Minimum Selection Rank of 70 (Australian Year 12 qualification or equivalent)
IB: Minimum IB Diploma score of 25
Program prerequisites: Successfully complete a) English AND b) General Mathematics AND c) one of Chemistry, Physical Education, Physics or Biology
English subjects accepted: English, Literature, English and Literature Extension, or English as an Additional Language (QLD); equivalents vary by state
General Mathematics or equivalent accepted (varies by state/country)
One science/PE subject: Chemistry, Physics, Biology, or Physical Education (or equivalent)
IB equivalents: Language A English Literature or Language B English with minimum grade requirements; Mathematics Applications and Interpretations (SL) Grade 4; relevant science/PE subject at SL (Grade 4) or HL (Grade 3)
New Zealand (NCEA): English Level 3 (20 credits), Maths/Statistics Level 3 (20 credits), plus one of Chemistry/Physics/Biology/Physical Education at Level 3 (20 credits)
Early entry available for current Year 12 (Australia) and Year 13 (New Zealand) students
