Academic English

ICMS offers specialist English language assistance through the Student Success Centre (SSC) for students who want to improve their written, spoken and comprehension skills. This includes help refining grammar, sentence structure, and academic writing, as well as assistance with structuring essays, improving clarity, and polishing work.

The Student Success Centre (SSC) is primarily based at the Northern Beaches Campus in Manly and operates Monday to Friday each week of the ICMS trimester. Advisors are also present at the City Campus on designated days. You can choose between online or face-to-face appointments.

Academic Support is available from 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday. Additionally, ICMS provides access to Studiosity, a 24/7 online academic support service, for assistance outside of these hours.

New students who need or would like additional English language proficiency before starting their studies might like to start their ICMS journey with an English program through the Aspire Institute.

The Student Success Centre can assist with a wide range of academic skills including effective study techniques, note-taking skills, report and essay writing skills, referencing and citing information, exam preparation techniques, time and stress management, academic writing, oral presentations, and specialist numeracy support for subjects such as accounting and statistics.
