The program for FNS60222 Advanced Diploma of Accounting is delivered over 78 weeks with actual student contact hours being 20 hours per week for 60 weeks. It has been divided into 6 terms of 10 weeks each with 18 weeks of holidays.
Students whose first language is not English must provide proof of English language competency by one of the following: a current IELTS score of 6.0 total or above with no band lower than 6.0; proof of completion of an Australian qualification in English language of one year or longer duration; successful completion of an approved English for Academic Purposes course meeting IELTS 6.0 equivalent requirements; or a successful score of Upper Intermediate Level of the School's English Language Placement Test.
Assessments for qualifications are competency based. Each unit comprises assessment tasks such as written questions, case studies and practical assessments. Students receive either a Competent (C) result or a Not Yet Competent (NYC) result. If a student receives a 'Not Yet Competent' outcome, they will receive written feedback from a trainer/assessor outlining where the gaps are, and they will be required to rectify these gaps and re-submit. Students have three (3) attempts to demonstrate competency, otherwise a unit re-enrolment fee applies.
The course is delivered in a blended learning format: 75% Face to Face Training through trainer-led sessions with in-class experiential activities, and 25% Online Training via Moodle-based assessment tasks.
Graduates can pursue accounting jobs related to complex tax issues and plans, corporate governance matters, auditing and reporting on financial systems, and analysing management accounting information and the application of a range of principles in legal related matters. Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
