Successful completion of the Advanced Diploma of Building Design (Architectural) 22627VIC will provide 9 subjects / 1.5 years credit into Melbourne Polytechnic's Bachelor of Applied Architecture. You can also advance your passion for building design with further qualifications in architecture, project management, town planning or interior design.
Yes. This course has been developed with industry and is recognised by Design Matters National and the Victorian Building Authorities and Building Practitioners Board. Graduates are sought after, with many past students winning Industry Awards with Design Matters National, with prizes and grants of up to thousands of dollars.
For local students, the government subsidised tuition fee is $16,400 (total payable $16,660 including maximum annual amenities of $260). The non-subsidised fee is $37,550 (total payable $37,810). For international students, the fee is $18,600 per year or $9,300 per semester. Fees displayed are indicative only and subject to change based on individual circumstances at enrolment.
The Advanced Diploma of Building Design (Architectural) is structured around a simulated office environment, with a project-based delivery that tests your knowledge in practical situations. Assessment is by a variety of methods, including project-based assessment, theory-based tests, completion of practical assignments/folio work, and targeted oral questions. Industry-experienced teachers use the latest computer-aided technology.
The course is delivered on-campus at Melbourne Polytechnic's Preston Campus. Intakes are available in February and July. The course can be studied full time over 2 years or part time over 4 years.
