Advanced Diploma of Business

This qualification reflects the role of individuals in a variety of Business Services job roles. These individuals may have general management accountabilities. Individuals in these roles carry out complex tasks in a specialist field of expertise. They may undertake technical research and analysis, and will often contribute to setting the strategic direction for a work area. The qualification is suited to individuals who are responsible for the supervision and leadership of a team or work area (including by managing staff performance and making staffing decisions). Ten units must be completed to attain the qualification, pitched at organisational level: applying critical thinking for complex problem solving, managing organisational finances, developing and implementing business plans, leading corporate social responsibility, reviewing organisational digital strategy, managing knowledge and information, leading and managing organisational change, managing innovation and continuous improvement, developing organisational strategies and establishing and managing compliance management systems. Delivered over 52 weeks at the Sydney campus in a blended face-to-face and online format at 20 hours per week, it is designed for students who already hold a Diploma or Advanced Diploma from the BSB Training Package and bring relevant workplace experience. Graduates are prepared for roles such as business analyst, senior executive, business development director and quarry business manager. Pathways from the qualification include Higher Education or a range of other Advanced Diploma level qualifications within the BSB Training Package, or other Training Packages.
