Entry Requirements

General Requirements

Completion of Year 12 certificate (or equivalent in-home country) or higher level qualification.
Students must have successfully completed a Diploma or Advanced Diploma in the BSB Training Package, or have two years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience in an operational or leadership role in an enterprise.
English Requirements: Prospective learners who are not exempt must have taken one of the following tests and achieved the minimum score in the last three (3) years:
- IELTS: 6.0 (or 5.0 with at least 10 weeks ELICOS, or 4.5 with at least 20 weeks ELICOS)
- TOEFL internet-based test: 60 (or 35 with at least 10 weeks ELICOS, or 32 with at least 20 weeks ELICOS)
- Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE): 169 (or 154 with at least 10 weeks ELICOS, or 147 with at least 20 weeks ELICOS)
- Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic): 46 (or 36 with at least 10 weeks ELICOS, or 30 with at least 20 weeks ELICOS)
- Occupational English Test: B for each test component
English exemptions apply if:
- You are a citizen and hold a passport from UK, USA, Canada, NZ or Republic of Ireland
- You are a Foreign Affairs or Defence sponsored student or a Secondary Exchange student (AASES)
- You are enrolled in a registered school course, standalone ELICOS, a course in a language other than English, or a registered post-graduate research course
- You have completed at least 5 years' study in English in Australia, UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, or the Republic of Ireland
- In the 2 years before applying, you completed in Australia and in English either the Senior Secondary Certificate of Education or a substantial component of an AQF Certificate IV or higher course while holding a student visa
LLN Requirements: All students must undertake and satisfactorily complete VCI's LLN Test conducted by a qualified assessor, including a written test and interview. The test is completed on the day of Orientation at the VCI campus.

The tuition fee for the BSB60120 Advanced Diploma of Business is AUD $9,500. There is also an enrolment fee of AUD $300 and a resource fee of AUD $300, which ensures students receive printed notes, learning materials and access to Wi-Fi for the duration of their course.

What assessment methods are used in the Advanced Diploma of Business?

All units of competence will be assessed using a selection of tools including: Portfolio, Observation, Report, Verbal Questions and Answers, Written Assessment, Practical demonstration / Role Play, and Presentations / Meetings / Discussions.

What prior pathways are recommended before enrolling in the Advanced Diploma of Business?

Preferred pathways for candidates considering this qualification include completion of BSB50120 Diploma of Business or other relevant qualification, OR substantial vocational experience in a range of environments, acting in a range of senior support or technical roles.

Is Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) available for this course?

Yes, RPL is the assessment process for recognizing competencies gained through previous learning, work, and life experiences. Students who have completed any of the subjects or have practical experience that can be used for RPL can contact VCI prior to enrolment. To be granted RPL, candidates are required to provide evidence that they are already competent in the specific subject or subjects, and this evidence should be valid, authentic, current and sufficient.

What payment methods are accepted for course fees?

Fees can be paid via cash or EFTPOS in person at VCI's campus, Credit Card (Visa or MasterCard) via PayPal on the student invoice (with a 2% surcharge added), bank draft or money order payable to 'Vocational Careers Institute', or electronic bank transfer (Telegraphic Transfer) from an overseas bank account to Commonwealth Bank (BSB: 064 000, Swift Code: CTBAAU2S).
