There are two pathways available: the Direct Entry Pathway, which takes a total of 104 weeks (8 terms: 80 study weeks + 24 weeks term break), and the Advanced Standing Pathway for those who have completed the RII50520 Diploma of Civil Construction Design, which takes only 26 weeks (2 terms: 24 study weeks + 2 weeks term break).
You need a minimum 5.5 IELTS score or above, or an equivalent qualification, or you can complete a KCBT placement test. Those students who do not meet the minimum English requirement will need to package this program with an English Course before proceeding to this qualification.
All units of competence will be assessed using a selection of tools including portfolios, reports, role-plays, observations in the real simulated work environment, case studies, questioning, simulation activities, knowledge-based assessments and construction/drafting software based on the unit.
Yes, learners who can demonstrate they already hold any of the Units of Competency specified may be eligible to receive a credit transfer for those units. They will need to submit a verified Certificate or Statement of Attainment issued by an RTO for recognition purposes, and complete the RPL or Credit Transfer or Exemption Form with detailed evidence of relevant experience or study.
