About This Course

Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management reflects the role of workers who are middle managers or managers across a range of community sector organisations. These people work independently and report to executive management, directors or boards of management. They undertake a range of functions requiring the application of knowledge and skills to achieve results in line with the organisation’s goals and strategic directions. At this level, workers have responsibility for planning and monitoring service delivery, recruitment and performance management of other paid or unpaid workers, managing risk and contributing to continuous improvement within the scope of their specific role. This may include management of a specific programs or projects, or broader management of a community-based organisation, early childhood education service, not-for-profit organisation or community centre.

General Requirements

The target learners and entry requirements for this course must: be over 18 years of age, and no longer attending secondary school undertake Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Skills Indicator assessment questionnaire ability to undertake a vocational placement, which includes manual handling tasks Obtain security clearances* Have technological skills to undertake computer/online work and have access to a computer and software with the following minimum specifications Adobe Acrobat Reader/Adobe Flash Player and up to date internet browser

Security Clearances: Some qualifications require a security clearance (e.g., police check, valid blue card and/or yellow card) in order for the student to be eligible to undertake practical and/or vocational placement. Additionally, individual host organisations may have different requirements regarding vaccinations. Please discuss these with our Administration Team during the enrolment process and/or refer to the DP Training website for more information.
