Entry into this program is based on an applicant's study and/or relevant work history. All applicants are required to have one of the following: successfully completed Year 12 or equivalent, successfully completed a Certificate II or higher qualification in a relevant Engineering or Electrical field, or applicants without formal qualifications but with significant relevant work experience may also be considered.
The course takes 2 years full-time, or an equivalent duration if studied part-time, and is delivered at the Hawthorn campus.
Applicants must satisfy one of the following English language requirements: an IELTS overall band of 6.0 (Academic Module) with no individual band below 5.5, or Swinburne's English for Academic Purposes (EAP 5 Advanced level) with an overall score of 65% and all skills 60% and above, or equivalent measures as listed on Swinburne's English language requirements page.

Credit transfer is available for academic credits gained through formal study completed either at another institute or in another qualification, with the total amount varying based on units successfully completed. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is also available, which is an assessment process that recognises skills and knowledge acquired over your lifetime, requiring you to provide evidence that demonstrates how you meet the requirements of the relevant units.
Yes, the Pearson Test of English (PTE Academic), which is a prerequisite for many courses, can now be done at Swinburne's Hawthorn campus.
