Common Questions
No, this course is not a pathway to becoming a licensed electrician. To legally perform electrical work in Australia, you must complete a four-year apprenticeship, obtain a Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician (UEE30820) and hold a valid electrical licence. If you trained as an electrician overseas, you may be eligible to have your qualification recognised through the Offshore Skills Assessment Program (OSAP).
The total course fee for international students is $31,200. Payment options include upfront payment, a payment plan for those who have difficulty paying the full cost upfront, and a VET Student Loan with a $19,290 cap (note: the Australian Government charges full fee-paying students a 20 per cent loan fee in addition to tuition fees). The preferred payment method for international students is telegraphic transfer or credit card using Convera Global Pay for Students or the Flywire Payment Portal.
International students must demonstrate English Language Proficiency equivalent to Academic IELTS 6.0 with no individual band less than 5.5, or an equivalent accepted English language test. TAFE Queensland International provides a list of all English language tests they accept.
Yes. TAFE Queensland offers Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), which means your years of industry experience count for something. They can assess your skills, directly apply credits from previous successful study, and give you advanced standing in your course, helping you fill in gaps in knowledge to gain or upgrade your qualifications faster.
Yes. This course provides a solid foundation for further tertiary study. TAFE Queensland has university pathway options, and in many cases completing one of their diplomas may give you a full year of credit towards a degree with one of their partner universities.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
