The qualification is delivered over 104 weeks, including 80 weeks of training and assessment spread over 8 terms of 10 weeks and 24 weeks of holidays.
International students must demonstrate an IELTS score of 6.0 with no band less than 5.5 or equivalent. English competence can also be demonstrated through completion of a Certificate III or at least 6 months of a Certificate IV level course in an Australian college, completion of an Advanced level English course from an approved ELICOS provider, an English Placement Test (EPT), or other tests such as PTE and TOEFL if results confirm equivalence to IELTS 6.0. Students who do not meet requirements may undertake an ELICOS course.
The Tuition Fee is A$26,000 and the Non-Tuition Fee is A$750. Course fees do not include computer software or textbooks, which must be purchased at the student's own cost. A detailed payment plan and payment arrangements are provided in the letter of offer and written agreement.
The course uses a blended delivery mode combining classroom and practical training in a commercial kitchen setting, with 13.5 hours of face-to-face training and 6.5 hours of online activities per week, plus 192 hours of work placement.
The SIT60322 Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management requires the successful completion of 33 units, comprising 14 core units and 19 elective units. Units have been selected in accordance with the packaging rules and are relevant to the work outcome, local industry requirements and qualification level.
