The SIT60322 Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management is an AQF Level 6 qualification delivered by Bentley College face-to-face for 20 hours per week over 104 weeks (88 study weeks plus 16 weeks of break), across 8 terms at the Melbourne campus. The course comprises 33 units of competency in total — 16 core and 17 elective — extending hospitality management capability into senior operational and strategic areas, including managing diversity and finances, developing and implementing a business plan, managing physical assets, researching and complying with regulatory requirements, leading and recruiting staff, monitoring staff performance and work operations, establishing business relationships, developing and implementing marketing strategies, and establishing and maintaining a work health and safety system. Electives build further specialist capability, drawing on cookery, customer service, meetings, presentations, conflict management and risk management units. The course suits experienced hospitality practitioners seeking a senior management-level qualification. Entry requires English proficiency at IELTS 6.0 or equivalent (or completion of General English at Advanced level), sound digital literacy, and completion of Australian Year 12 or equivalent. On completion, graduates are prepared for chef roles at restaurants, hotels, clubs, pubs, cafés and coffee shops, and for senior hospitality management positions.
