Common Questions
The standalone duration for direct entry students is expected to be 104 weeks, which includes 80 weeks of face-to-face training and assessment spread over 8 terms of 10 weeks each, plus 24 weeks of term breaks (accumulative). Duration can be shortened to 26 weeks due to Credit Transfer if the student has completed SIT50422 – Diploma of Hospitality Management at Hilton Academy.
International students must provide evidence of IELTS (Academic or General) band 6 overall, or an equivalent score from accepted tests (e.g. TOEFL iBT 67, PTE Academic 47, Pearson 47), completed within 2 years of the application date. Alternatively, IELTS 5.5 with 10 weeks of ELICOS or IELTS 5.0 with 20 weeks of ELICOS is accepted. English requirements may be waived for citizens of the UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand or the Republic of Ireland, or for those who have completed at least 5 years of study in English in specified countries.
The program is delivered face-to-face at the campus located at Level 1-2, 301-311 Flinders Ln, Melbourne VIC 3000, with practical face-to-face training provided in a commercial training kitchen at Unit 4, 60 Stubbs St, Kensington VIC 3031. Work placement training location is as per individual student agreement.
The course fees are: Tuition Fee $21,846, Enrolment Fee $250, and Material Fee $2,995. Students are encouraged to contact Hilton Academy for information on any promotional pricing.
After achieving the Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management, individuals could progress to BSB80120 – Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning) or higher education qualifications in management. In terms of employment, graduates can pursue roles as area manager or operations manager within the hospitality industry, café owner or manager, executive chef, executive sous chef, food and beverage manager, or head chef across sectors including restaurants, hotels, motels, catering services, clubs, pubs, cafés, and coffee shops.
