Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management

The Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management (SIT60322) at TasTAFE is designed for experienced hospitality practitioners moving into supervisory and management roles across a broad range of venues and companies. It combines practical skills training in food and beverage, housekeeping, front office and catering with the management capability needed to coordinate hospitality operations. Students learn how to lead and manage people, lead diversity and inclusion in the workplace, recruit, select and induct new staff, and monitor staff performance and work operations. The course also covers developing and managing quality customer service practices, researching and complying with regulatory requirements, managing physical assets, and establishing and maintaining a work health and safety system, alongside financial and commercial skills including managing finances within a budget, preparing and monitoring budgets, managing organisational finances, and developing and implementing business plans, marketing strategies and business relationships.

Domestically the course is delivered part-time in the workplace through the Drysdale Collins Street campus in Hobart, with tuition of $10,970 subsidised or $21,890 commercial plus a $561 online learning fee. For international students it runs full-time in Hobart over 52 weeks at 20 hours per week with a July intake, at AUD $16,275, and can also be taken packaged with the Certificate III in Hospitality or the Diploma of Hospitality Management. On completion, graduates are equipped to seek supervisory or management roles across hotels, restaurants and other hospitality businesses.
