The full qualification is delivered over 104 weeks, which includes 80 weeks of face-to-face training and assessment spread over 8 terms and 24 weeks (in total) of term breaks. However, students who have successfully completed SIT50422 Diploma of Hospitality Management at ACIC will receive credit transfer accounting for 1.5 years of full-time study, reducing their course duration to just 26 weeks.
The total course cost is AUD 31,750, which comprises a Tuition Fee of AUD 30,000, an Enrolment Fee of AUD 250, and a Material Fee of AUD 1,500.
Yes, all students enrolled in this course must undertake 50 hours of work placement at an approved hospitality venue. Work placement must be completed successfully in order to gain this qualification.
Practical face-to-face training is provided in a commercial kitchen. Students enrolled in Sydney and Parramatta campus will undertake practical classes at 12 Good St Granville NSW 2142, while students enrolled at the Darwin campus will have practical classes at Unit G5, 6 Finniss Street, Darwin City, NT 0800.
You need to have an IELTS score of 6.0 (test results must be no more than 2 years old). English language competence can also be demonstrated through documented evidence of having been educated for 5 years in an English-speaking country, or by successfully completing an English Placement Test. Other English language tests such as PTE and TOEFL can also be accepted, provided students supply results confirming equivalency to IELTS 6.0.
