The course runs for 104 weeks full time, including work placement, with 22 weeks of holidays (including the Christmas and New Year's break).
The total course fee is $24,250 AUD, which comprises a tuition fee of $24,000 AUD and an application fee of $250 AUD.
Students are required to complete 144 hours of work placement. For the unit SITHCCC043 – Work effectively as a cook, students must complete a minimum of 48 complete service periods in a commercial kitchen, covering a combination of Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, and prepare items across multiple menu styles and food types.
Students completing SIT60322 – Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management can continue studying either other VET Graduate Diploma programs (e.g. BSB80320 – Graduate Diploma of Strategic Leadership) or directly apply into a Bachelor program such as Hotel Management or Hospitality Management. Career-wise, this qualification provides a pathway to work in the role of highly skilled senior managers in hospitality operations across employers including restaurants, hotels, motels, catering operations, clubs, pubs, cafés, and coffee shops.
Applicants must demonstrate an English language proficiency level equivalent to one of the following: Cert III in EAL, Academic IELTS band score of 6 or equivalent, satisfactorily completed ELICOS at least Upper Intermediate level, evidence as prescribed by the Department of Education Skills and Employment, completed within the past 2 years in Australia the requirements for senior secondary certificate of education, or a substantial component of AQF level 4 or higher on a student visa completed within the past 2 years in Australia.
