Common Questions
The total course fee is $21,700 AUD. This is broken down into an enrolment fee of $200, tuition fees of $21,000 paid in 8 instalments of $2,625 per term, and a materials fee of $500. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is charged separately at $637 per unit. All amounts are in Australian dollars.
The course is delivered over 101 weeks, comprising 80 weeks of training and assessment spread across 8 terms of 10 weeks each, plus 21 weeks of holidays. Delivery is in-person, combining classroom sessions and a commercial training kitchen, with a work placement component also required. Face-to-face training is 20 hours per week, with an additional approximately 5 hours per week of self-directed study.
Students are required to attend class in neat, casual attire suitable for practical activities; specific clothing requirements for work placement are discussed at Day 1 Induction. Students need basic stationery and a notebook, and are recommended to have access to a computer with an internet connection. Portable electronic devices such as laptops or tablets may be brought to class. Students are issued a prescribed online textbook to assist with their study.
Students enrolled in the SIT60322 Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management complete a combination of practical and theoretical assessments designed to reflect real industry practices. The assessment system is designed to ensure students gain practical expertise, theoretical knowledge, and workplace competency required to succeed in senior management and leadership roles within the hospitality industry.
This qualification provides a pathway to work in any hospitality industry sector and for a diversity of employers including restaurants, hotels, motels, catering operations, clubs, pubs, cafés, and coffee shops. Graduates are prepared for senior leadership roles such as General Manager, Operations Manager, Executive Chef/Head Chef, Accommodation Manager, Food and Beverage Manager, Gaming Manager, and Catering Operations Manager.
