Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management

The SIT60322 Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management prepares students for senior hospitality management roles requiring a broad range of specialised managerial skills, significant autonomy, and substantial industry knowledge to coordinate operations and make strategic business decisions. Core units cover managing organisational finances, developing and implementing marketing strategies and business plans, identifying and managing legal risk, managing physical assets, recruiting and inducting staff, monitoring staff performance, and establishing a workplace health and safety system, alongside customer service, budgeting and business relationship management units. A wide-ranging set of elective units also builds practical food preparation skills, from basic cookery methods and food safety through to appetisers, stocks, soups, desserts and special dietary dishes. The course is delivered at The Centre of Excellence's Melbourne campus over 94 weeks including holidays, with new intakes accepted every month. Because this qualification falls under the Management and Commerce field of education, it is not eligible for extended Post-Study Work Rights. On graduating, students are prepared for senior leadership roles such as hotel manager, restaurant manager and event coordinator, overseeing operations, managing teams and implementing strategic decisions across hotels, restaurants and event venues.
