The course runs for 104 weeks in total, comprising 88 study weeks and 16 holiday weeks. Students study 20 classroom hours per week plus approximately 5 hours of self-study.
Yes, students are required to complete 240 hours of mandatory work placement in industry as part of the course requirements.
International students must demonstrate English proficiency through an IELTS score of 6.0 (or equivalent, valid within 2 years), or by successfully completing General English (Advanced) or EAP (Upper Advanced). Students are also required to complete a Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital (LLND) assessment during orientation.
Graduates can continue into higher-level studies such as other Advanced Diploma-level qualifications within the SIT Tourism, Travel and Hospitality Training Package, or a Bachelor of Hospitality or other accredited graduate programs with higher education providers in Australia (subject to entry requirements).
Students must complete 33 units of competency in total, comprising 14 core units and 19 elective units, covering areas such as financial management, marketing, staff performance, WHS, business planning, and commercial cookery.
