About This Course

This qualification reflects the role of highly skilled senior managers who use a broad range of hospitality skills combined with specialised managerial skills and substantial knowledge of industry to coordinate hospitality operations. They operate with significant autonomy and are responsible for making strategic business management decisions. This qualification provides a pathway to work in any hospitality industry sector and for a diversity of employers including restaurants, hotels, motels, catering operations, clubs, pubs, cafés, and coffee shops. This qualification allows for multi-skilling and for acquiring targeted skills in accommodation services, cookery, food and beverage and gaming. The skills in this qualification must be applied in accordance with Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation, Australian standards and industry codes of practice.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age at course commencement
Have completed Australian year 12 or equivalent or successfully completed AQF Certificate IV qualification or above
Participate in a course entry interview to determine suitability for the course and student needs
Meet Australian student visa subclass 500 requirements
Have an IELTS* score of 6.0 (test results must be no more than 2 years old)
English language competence can also be demonstrated through documented evidence of any of the following:
- Educated for at least 5 years in an English-speaking country where the medium of instructions was in English; or
- Completed at least a Certificate IV level course in an Australian RTO within the last 2 years
*Note that other English language tests such as PTE and TOEFL can be accepted. Students are required to provide their results so that Australian Federation College can confirm they are equivalent to IELTS 6.0.

What are the course fees for the Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management?

The costs for this course are as follows: Enrolment Fee AUD 250 (non-refundable), Material fee AUD 1,500, and Tuition Fees AUD 26,000. Course fees do not include laptops, computer software or textbooks, which are to be purchased at the student's own cost. Australian Federation College reserves the right to vary Tuition Fees and/or Material Fees from time to time.

What are the class timetable options for this course?

This course is offered across three shifts: Shift 1 — Monday and Tuesday 8:15 am–5:00 pm, Friday 8:15 am–12:30 pm; Shift 2 — Wednesday and Thursday 8:15 am–5:00 pm, Friday 12:45 pm–5:00 pm; Shift 3 — Monday–Friday 5:30 pm–9:45 pm. Students will be advised of the timing prior to commencement of their term.

How many units are required to complete the SIT60322 Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management?

The SIT60322 Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management requires the successful completion of fourteen (14) core units and nineteen (19) elective units. Electives for this qualification have been chosen by Australian Federation College to ensure that students achieve a broad range of skills and knowledge in the hospitality industry.

Can I apply for credit transfer or recognition of prior learning for this course?

Yes, students may apply for recognition of existing qualifications or skills, knowledge and experience (credit transfer or recognition of prior learning) as per Australian Federation College's policy. Credit and/or RPL can be provided for those with existing skills and knowledge, allowing such students to complete the course in a shorter timeframe.
