The standalone duration for this qualification for direct entry students is expected to be completed in 104 weeks. This includes 80 weeks of face-to-face training and assessment spread over 8 terms of 10 weeks each and 24 weeks of term breaks (accumulative). The duration can be shortened to 26 weeks due to Credit Transfer if the student has completed the SIT50422 – Diploma of Hospitality Management at Hilton Academy.
The tuition fee for the Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management is $21,846, with an enrolment fee of $250 and a material fee of $2,995. The CRICOS Code for this course is 112518E.
International students must provide evidence of IELTS Academic or General band 6 overall (or equivalent) completed within 2 years from the application date. Equivalent tests include CELPIP General overall band 7, Pearson Test of English Academic overall band 47, TOEFL iBT total band 67, and others. Alternatively, students may present IELTS band 5.5 combined with 10 weeks of ELICOS, or IELTS band 5.0 combined with 20 weeks of ELICOS. Some students may be exempt, such as citizens of the UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand or Republic of Ireland, or those who have completed at least 5 years of study in English in specified countries.
Campus delivery takes place at Level 1-2, 301-311 Flinders Ln, Melbourne VIC 3000, with practical kitchen training at Unit 4, 60 Stubbs St, Kensington VIC 3031. Students are expected to have access to a laptop or computer with a Windows operating system and Microsoft Office at their own cost. Applicants will also need access to a kitchen toolkit, which includes a chef's uniform, safety shoes, various knives and small equipment — students may arrange this themselves or Hilton Academy can provide a toolkit for an additional cost.
Graduates can pursue roles across various hospitality sectors including restaurants, hotels, motels, catering services, clubs, pubs, cafés, and coffee shops. Possible job titles include area manager or operations manager within the hospitality industry, cafe owner or manager, executive chef, executive sous chef, food and beverage manager, and head chef. After achieving the Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management, individuals could also progress to the BSB80120 – Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning) or higher education qualifications in management.
