To enter this qualification, students must have completed either the BSB50320 Diploma of Human Resource Management or BSB50618 Diploma of Human Resources Management (or a superseded equivalent version), OR have four years of equivalent full-time relevant work experience. General entry requirements also include being 18 years or older, meeting English language proficiency (IELTS 6 overall with no less than 5.5 in each band), and completing Year 12 or an AQF Certificate IV qualification or higher.
The total duration of the course is 52 weeks, comprising 40 weeks of study period and 12 weeks of term break. The course is delivered 100% face-to-face at the Training Masters campus in Sydney at a study load of 20 hours per week.
On completion of this qualification, candidates may undertake a range of other Advanced Diploma qualifications from the BSB Business Services Training Package, or seek entry into an undergraduate degree such as a Bachelor of Management at an Australian Higher Education Provider. Coupled with substantial employment experience (more than two years), graduates may also be eligible to gain entry into post-graduate courses such as a Graduate Diploma in Human Resources, Graduate Certificate in Management, or Master of Human Resource Management.
Graduates can pursue senior roles in HR and workforce management across corporate, government, healthcare, education, and non-profit sectors. Possible job titles include Human Resources Director, HR Business Partner (Senior), Workplace Relations Manager, Organizational Development Manager, Talent Acquisition Specialist (Senior), Learning and Development Manager, HR Consultant, and Chief People Officer (CPO).
The qualification consists of 10 units in total — 6 core units and 4 elective units. The core units are: Contribute to organisational performance development (BSBHRM611), Lead and manage organisational change (BSBLDR601), Apply critical thinking for complex problem solving (BSBCRT611), Manage organisational finances (BSBFIN601), Contribute to the development of employee and industrial relations strategies (BSBHRM612), and Contribute to strategic workforce planning (BSBHRM614).
