You will need a personal computer with at least an Intel Core i5 (10th generation or newer) or AMD Ryzen 5 processor, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD storage, Windows 10/11 or macOS 12 or newer, a 14-inch Full HD screen, a stable internet connection of at least 10 Mbps, and a webcam and microphone. You may also need to install software such as Visual Studio Code, Git, Docker, or virtualisation tools. SCCM also provides students with an Office 365 account free of charge, along with access to CISCO Packet Tracer, VMware Workstation, Oracle, and Wireshark.
To be awarded the ICT60220 Advanced Diploma of Information Technology, competency must be demonstrated in 16 units of competency, consisting of 6 core units and 10 elective units.
Yes. Students who have completed relevant studies or have some of the competencies in the course may apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Application for RPL can be made with the initial application or within two weeks of course commencement. Additionally, SCCM students who have completed ICT50220 Diploma of Information Technology (Advanced Networking) will receive credit transfer for at least 7 units (accounting for 600 hours/3 terms), meaning they only need to complete the remaining units within 65 weeks.
