The total duration of the course is 104 weeks, comprising 80 weeks of study period and 24 weeks of term break, delivered 100% by face-to-face class at the TM campus in Sydney.
Students must meet one of the following English language requirements: Academic IELTS 6 overall with no less than 5.5 in each band (test results no more than 2 years old); other English language tests such as PTE and TOEFL accepted if scores are equivalent to IELTS 6.0 (results must be provided for verification); or completion of an approved Australian English Language course with an equivalent level.
On completion of this qualification, candidates may undertake a range of other Advanced Diploma qualifications from the ICT Training Package or any other training package. Candidates may also seek entry into an undergraduate degree such as a Bachelor of Information Technology at an Australian Higher Education Provider. Coupled with substantial employment experience (more than two years), graduates may also be eligible to gain entry into post-graduate courses such as a Graduate Certificate in Information Technology/System, Graduate Certificate in Technology, or Master of Information Technology.
Graduates can pursue leadership or advanced technical roles across various sectors including IT consulting, telecommunications, finance, government, and healthcare. Possible job titles include IT Manager, Systems Architect, Cybersecurity Specialist, Cloud Solutions Architect, Software Engineer, Database Architect, Network Engineer/Architect, IT Business Analyst, IT Project Manager, and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Specialist.
The course consists of a total of 16 units — 6 core units and 10 elective units — delivered across 8 terms with term breaks scheduled throughout, at a study load of 20 hours per week. The specialisation focus is on Telecommunications Network Engineering.
