This qualification is delivered over 104 weeks in total, which includes 72 weeks of training and assessment spread over 8 terms of 9 weeks each, plus 32 weeks of holidays.
The total course fee is AUD $32,000.00, plus a non-refundable enrolment fee of $300 to be paid on application. Course fees do not include computer software or textbooks, which are to be purchased at the student's own cost. Non-tuition fees may also apply and can be found at www.ctic.com.au.
International students must have an IELTS score of 5.5 (test results must be no more than 2 years old). English language competence can also be demonstrated through documented evidence of being educated for 5 years in an English-speaking country, or through successful completion of an English Placement Test. Other tests such as PTE and TOEFL are accepted if they can be confirmed as equivalent to IELTS 5.5.
Assessment methods used for this qualification include projects, presentations, report writing, observations, and questioning (oral or written). At the beginning of each unit, trainers will outline the assessment tasks that must be completed. Additionally, workplace practices and environments are simulated and used to conduct skills-based assessments in accordance with unit requirements.
Yes, students may apply for recognition of existing qualifications or skills, knowledge, and experience (credit transfer or recognition of prior learning). For international students, the granting of course credit may affect course fees as well as the duration of the course. If course credit is granted following the issuance of the Confirmation of Enrolment, students will receive a new Confirmation of Enrolment showing a reduced duration.
