Advanced Diploma of Information Technology

The Advanced Diploma of Information Technology (ICT60220) is an advanced-level qualification for IT professionals seeking expertise in network security, cloud computing and IT project management. Delivered by Waratah Polytechnic at its Burwood campus in Sydney, the course combines theoretical learning and practical application, covering IT infrastructure design, cybersecurity threat analysis, cloud and virtualisation technologies, and IT project planning, risk assessment and compliance.

The program follows a blended learning model of 15 hours face-to-face training, 5 hours of structured online learning, and around 5 hours of self-study per week, delivered across 8 terms, with training in a fully-equipped IT lab featuring cybersecurity labs, network simulation environments, and cloud computing platforms. Assessment includes practical hands-on tasks, simulated workplace projects, case studies and real-world IT problem-solving exercises.

Graduates are prepared for roles across advanced data management, cybersecurity, full-stack web development, further programming, IT strategy and organisational development, and systems development and analysis, with pathways into Enterprise IT Architect, IT Director or Chief Information Officer (CIO) roles.
