Advanced Diploma of Information Technology

The Advanced Diploma of Information Technology (Telecommunications Network Engineering) (ICT60220) at HJ Australian Institute reflects the role of individuals in a variety of information and communications technology (ICT) roles who have significant experience in specialist technical skills, or managerial business and people management skills. Individuals in these roles carry out complex tasks in a specialist field, working independently, leading a team or a strategic direction of a business, and they apply their skills across a wide range of industries and business functions, or as a business owner (sole trader/contractor). The skills required may include, but are not restricted to: advanced data management information — creating, designing and monitoring complex systems that store data; cyber security — protecting sensitive data through security architecture and developing disaster recovery and contingency plans; full stack web development; further programming; IT strategy and organisational development; systems development and analysis; and telecommunications network engineering — managing logistics, organisational specifications, regulations and legislative requirements across network projects.

Delivered through HJ Australian Institute's Faculty of Engineering Technology, the qualification runs for a total of 104 weeks — 88 weeks of tuition plus 16 weeks of scheduled breaks — face to face at the Hobart campus in Tasmania, with rolling intakes. Students complete 16 units of competency: 6 core units plus 10 electives drawn from the telecommunications network engineering specialisation. No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication. On successful completion, students are issued with the Advanced Diploma of Information Technology (Telecommunications Network Engineering) (ICT60220) and an academic transcript within 30 calendar days; students who complete individual units but not the full qualification receive a Statement of Attainment.
