Eligibility
Southern Academy of Business and Technology has the following entry requirements: Students must: Be at least 18 years of age and have completed Year 12 or equivalent. Have an IELTS* score of 5.5 (test results must be no more than 2 years old). English language competence can also be demonstrated through documented evidence of any of the following: the student has successfully completed a foundation course in Australia; the student has successfully completed at least 6 months of a Certificate IV level course in an Australian RTO; Educated for 5 years in an English-speaking country; or Successful completion of LLN test. Participate in activities to determine suitability for the course and student needs, as required. *Note that other English language tests such as PTE and TOEFL can be accepted. Students are required to provide their results so that it can be confirmed they are equivalent to IELTS 5.5. Course specific entry requirements: Have successfully completed a Diploma or Advanced Diploma from the BSB Training Package (current or superseded equivalent versions) or Have two years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience in an operational or leadership role in an enterprise.

Common Questions
Students must have an IELTS score of 5.5 (test results must be no more than 2 years old). Other English language tests such as PTE and TOEFL can also be accepted, provided results are equivalent to IELTS 5.5. Alternatively, English language competence can be demonstrated through successful completion of a foundation course in Australia, at least 6 months of a Certificate IV level course in an Australian RTO, 5 years of education in an English-speaking country, or successful completion of an LLN test.
This qualification is delivered over 52 weeks, including 40 weeks of training and assessment spread over 4 terms of 10 weeks each, plus 12 weeks of holidays.
Applicants must have either successfully completed a Diploma or Advanced Diploma from the BSB Training Package (current or superseded equivalent versions), or have two years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience in an operational or leadership role in an enterprise.
Assessment will occur through a variety of methods, including projects incorporating role-plays, case studies and short answer questions. Assessment conditions will ensure a simulated workplace environment. Assessment tasks reflect real life work tasks, are required to be performed within industry standard timeframes, utilise authentic workplace documentation, and require students to work with others as part of a team.
The course is delivered at the Sydney Campus (95 Bathurst Street, Sydney, NSW 2000) and Adelaide Campus (97 Pirie St, Adelaide, SA 5000) through classroom-based learning and structured self-study. Students must have a laptop installed with Microsoft Office or similar while in class. Training rooms are equipped with desks, chairs, whiteboard, overhead projector, and computers with Microsoft Office and internet access.
