This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply specialised knowledge and skills, together with experience in leadership and management, across a range of enterprise and industry contexts. Individuals at this level use initiative and judgement to plan and implement a range of leadership and management functions, with accountability for personal and team outcomes within broad parameters. They use cognitive and communication skills to identify, analyse and synthesise information from a variety of sources and transfer their knowledge to others, and creative or conceptual skills to express ideas and respond to complex problems.

WMIT's BSB60420 Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management is CRICOS-registered under code 107492H and delivered as classroom-based, face-to-face training over 52 weeks at the Melbourne CBD campus. Entry requires completion of the Diploma of Leadership and Management or equivalent. Across 10 units of competency (5 core and 5 electives), students build advanced skills in critical thinking, organisational change, innovation, strategy development and business planning.

On completion, graduates are prepared for senior roles such as General Manager, Corporate General Manager and Executive Officer, with a further study pathway into the Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning), Graduate Diploma of Strategic Leadership, or an equivalent qualification.
