Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management

The BSB60420 Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management at Fusion College of Technology reflects the role of individuals who apply specialised knowledge and skills, together with experience in leadership and management, across a range of enterprise and industry contexts. Individuals at this level use initiative and judgement to plan and implement a range of leadership and management functions, with accountability for personal and team outcomes within broad parameters. They use cognitive and communication skills to identify, analyse and synthesise information from a variety of sources and transfer their knowledge to others, and creative or conceptual skills to express ideas and perspectives or respond to complex problems. Fusion College recommends the qualification for international students seeking to pursue or further a career in leadership and management, to enter a new industry sector, or to progress to higher level qualifications. The course comprises ten units of competency - five core and five electives - spanning critical thinking for complex problem solving, leading and managing organisational change, providing leadership across the organisation, developing and implementing business plans, managing innovation and continuous improvement, personal and professional development, learning and development strategies, workplace communication, innovative thinking and practice, and developing organisational strategies. It is delivered over 65 weeks, including 50 weeks of training and assessment spread over five terms of ten weeks each and 15 weeks of holidays, in the classroom and through structured supervised study sessions at the Parramatta campus. No occupational licensing, certification or specific legislative requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.
