Common Questions
International students must be over eighteen years old and must have completed 5 core units from the BSB50620 Diploma of Marketing and Communications (Mercury College expects students to complete the full Diploma prior to commencing). They must also have successfully completed Year 12 or equivalent, meet English language requirements of IELTS 6.0 overall (no less than 5.5 in each band) or equivalent, and complete a Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital (LLND) skills assessment before enrolment.
The Advanced Diploma of Marketing and Communication duration is up to 104 weeks, consisting of 80 weeks of course delivery plus 24 weeks of term break.
The course is offered in a blended mode of delivery and assessment. Students are required to attend 15 hours face-to-face full-time classroom study plus complete 5 hours of structured online learning every week. The course is provided through the Mercury Colleges ELearn platform, where teachers deliver lectures and tutorials face to face on campus and students complete weekly study online. Progress is tracked for every student.
Graduates of the BSB60520 Advanced Diploma of Marketing and Communication may work in the following occupations: Marketing director, Marketing strategy manager, International marketing director, and Specialist marketing and communications project leader.
Students undertaking the BSB60520 Advanced Diploma of Marketing and Communication may exit study at this point or progress in two ways: they may complete a dual qualification in BSB60420 Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management, or apply for advanced standing to university study in Marketing and Communications.
