Business Internship (elective)
Optional elective in final year; involves one or two days per week in industry for one semester; placement must be self-sourced
Common Questions
The Associate Degree in Business matches the academic standards of the first two years of a bachelor degree, but is taught in smaller groups of typically 25–30 students, allowing a close and supportive relationship with your teachers. It consists of 15 core subjects and one elective, and can provide credit and guaranteed entry into further study such as the Bachelor of Business or Bachelor of Accounting.
Throughout your studies you will be exposed to simulated and real-life business challenges, often working with partner companies on specific group projects. Past partners have included Devondale, Zagame Automotive Group, Takeda Pharmaceutical Company, Tupperware, and the Transport Accident Commission (TAC). In your final year, you may also choose to enrol in the Business Internship elective, which involves one or two days per week in an industry placement for one semester.
For domestic students in a Commonwealth Supported Place, the annual student contribution amount for 2026 ranges from AU$4,738 to AU$17,399 depending on the band of each enrolled subject, plus a Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) of up to AU$373. For international students, the 2026 annual tuition fee is AU$35,520. Eligible domestic students may defer fees using a HECS-HELP loan.
The Associate Degree in Business provides credit and guaranteed entry into further study. Graduates may choose to undertake the Bachelor of Business, Bachelor of Business Professional Practice, or the Bachelor of Accounting. There are also packaged pathway options available, including a Bachelor of Business via Associate Degree in Business (2026 ATAR 40.00) and a Bachelor of Accounting via Associate Degree in Business (2026 ATAR 40.25).
While the Associate Degree in Business is delivered in Melbourne, student exchange opportunities may be possible into qualifications offered at RMIT Vietnam. RMIT also offers a range of opportunities for students to study abroad through overseas work, exchange and study experiences with over 165 partner universities worldwide.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
