Associate Degree in Information Technology

The Associate Degree in Information Technology (XADIT) is a two-year, 100% online qualification that comprises the first two years of Adelaide University's Bachelor of Information Technology, giving students a fast-tracked, flexible entry point into a full IT degree or a standalone two-year qualification for those wanting to move quickly into the workforce.

The 96-unit program (48 core, 48 elective) covers the historical and technical foundations of computing — hardware structure, operating systems, foundational programming — before moving into cloud architecture and security models, cyber security practice, and applied data analytics (data acquisition, wrangling, and data-driven web technologies). Students can tailor their electives toward either an information technology or data analytics minor, and participate in design studios where they build a product concept and present it to a simulated client, developing stakeholder communication and team-management skills alongside technical ones.
