You will develop skills in concept development, storytelling, pre-production, production and post-production for single and multi-camera productions. In Year 1, you'll build foundational technical skills using industry-standard cameras and video editing software. In Year 2, you'll explore advanced editing techniques and develop screen and media projects as part of a team, culminating in a Major Production Capstone in the final semester.
Graduates of the Associate Degree in Screen and Media Production are guaranteed entry into the Bachelor of Communication (Media) and the Bachelor of Fine Arts at RMIT University. Credit may apply, which will reduce the total duration of the destination course.
For international students, the annual tuition fee is AU$36,480 (2026 annual figure). In addition, there is a Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) of up to AU$373 for 2026, plus potential costs for field trips, textbooks and equipment.
Students have access to a range of professional equipment and facilities, including industry-standard cameras and video editing software. Learning takes place in computer labs, on location and in studio-based environments. You are actively encouraged to develop and produce innovative screen content to industry standard using these resources.
