The Associate Degree of Business Management is a sixteen (16) unit course with 12 core and 4 elective units, totalling 48 credit points. It is divided into two levels: Level 100 (6 core + 2 elective units) and Level 200 (6 core + 2 elective units). Students have flexibility in elective choice to build on core areas or broaden studies in digital marketing and entrepreneurship specialisations.
For the Associate Degree, applicants must meet one of the following: IELTS Academic with an overall score of 6.0 and no band less than 5.5; PTE with an overall score of 50 and no band less than 42; or Cambridge English C1 Advanced with an overall score of 169 and no band less than 162. IGI may waive the English Language requirement if the student meets certain criteria, such as recent completion of AQF Level 4 or higher in Australia or senior secondary study in English from approved countries.
Graduates of the Associate Degree of Business Management can pursue careers as Executive Assistants, Team Leaders or Supervisors, or as Business or Management Advisors/Consultants. The course also equips students with the skills needed for further study at the Bachelor level.
The Associate Degree of Business Management costs $17,200 per year and is a 2-year full-time course. It is delivered face-to-face at the Sydney campus, with intakes available in February, May, and September.
Assessment in this course includes both formative and summative tasks, comprising individual and group work. Formative assessment examples include presentations, participation in group assignments or in-class learning activities, and simulations. Summative assessment examples include case studies, literature reviews, reports or essay writing, quizzes, reflective journals, and assignments completed at the end of a unit.
