Common Questions
Yes. The Bachelor of Accounting at Victoria University is accredited by both CPA Australia and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ), meaning graduates are qualified for accreditation with these two leading professional accounting organisations.
In your second year, you can choose a major from five specialisations: Business Analytics, Data and Information Systems Management, Finance, Risk Management, or Financial Planning. You may also complete two minors to further expand your knowledge and enhance your employability.
Students gain real-world experience through the VU Tax Clinic, where you work with real clients under the supervision of expert chartered accountants, assisting with tax returns, TFNs, ABNs, and PAYG matters. The course also includes workplace-based projects, industry capstone units involving multidisciplinary group projects with real clients, guest speakers, and short-term workplace assignments or employment in areas relevant to your studies.
The Bachelor of Accounting is available as a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) for eligible students, with indicative fees for a full-time student in 2026 of approximately AU$17,399 per year. This fee is a guide only and does not include materials such as textbooks or the Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF). Eligible students may also apply for a HELP loan to defer tuition costs.
To attain the Bachelor of Accounting, students must complete 288 credit points: 96 credit points of First Year Core studies, 96 credit points of Professional Core studies, and 96 credit points made up of either a Major (96 credit points) or two Minors — one being the Finance and Professional Skills minor (48 credit points) plus one additional approved minor (48 credit points).

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
