Common Questions
To be admitted, students must meet all of the following criteria: completion of at least 160 credit points of law study (or 140 credit points if two Summer subjects are undertaken); demonstration of the likelihood of graduating with an Honours Weighted Average Mark (HWAM) of at least 70 at the time of graduation, or an Admission Average Mark (AAM) of at least 70 at the time of admission to the Honours program; demonstration of satisfactory academic writing skills; and availability of a principal supervisor.
This program offers up to four accreditations in accounting from CPA Australia, Institute of Public Accountants (IPA), Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) and Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), depending on the subjects you study.
The program takes 5 years to complete full time and is also available part time (note: part-time is not available to International Students on a Student Visa). It is offered at Parramatta South and Campbelltown campuses.
Students develop skills in problem-solving, critical thinking, research, communication, collaboration, self-management, and ethical and professional awareness and judgement. Students will also have the opportunity to develop skills in legal advocacy, negotiation, and legal technology, and extend their professional and learning experiences through work integrated learning, clinical placement and international exchange engagements.
Graduates can pursue a broad range of careers in different sectors and industries, including Auditing, Taxation, Insolvency, Treasury, Financial Accounting, Forensic Accounting, and roles in Courts and Law Firms.
