Yes, the Bachelor of Accounting is accredited by Chartered Accountants ANZ, IPA (Institute of Public Accountants), and CPA Australia, meaning graduates are well placed to undertake further professional association study to become eligible to work as a professional accountant.
To fulfil the requirements of the award, students must complete a total of 240 credit points. Each unit is 10 credit points, except BUS307 Work Integrated Learning (Internship), which is a 20 credit points unit.
International students whose first language is not English must demonstrate an IELTS overall test result of 6.0 (no band lower than 5.5) or an equivalent result in an English language test such as TOEFL or PTE. Other acceptable evidence includes completion of secondary education or an undergraduate degree via the medium of English, successful completion of Year 12 in Australia, an Australian qualification at AQF Certificate IV level or above, or a Tertiary Studies Foundation Program. Students who do not meet these requirements may undertake an ELICOS program prior to the course.
Students can choose from a range of elective units including Managing People and Culture (BUS206), Business Planning (BUS202), Small Business Management (BUS203), Agile Project Management (BUS205), Creativity and Innovation for Business (ENT102), Entrepreneurial Marketing (ENT103), Practices of Entrepreneurship (ENT201), Corporate Entrepreneurship and Innovation (ENT202), Introduction to Information Technology (ICT101), Advanced Management Accounting (ACC304), Work-Integrated Learning Internship (BUS307), Integrated Marketing Communications (ENT304), Services Marketing (ENT307), and Intellectual Property and Commercialisation (ENT308).
CIHE uses a range of assessment tasks to help students monitor their learning, including quizzes, group work, case-studies and scenario-based activities, reports and exams. Throughout the course, achievement of unit and course learning outcomes is assessed through a range of formative and summative assessment activities. All units are supported by an online learning management system — Moodle.
