In the Economics component, you can study one or two majors choosing from Macroeconomics and Financial Markets, Data Analytics and Econometrics, and Economic Policy and Society. In the Actuarial Studies component, optional majors include Computational Data Science, Actuarial Risk Management & Analytics, and Quantitative Data Science. You also have the option to choose a Commerce major from Accounting, Behavioural Economics, Business Analytics, Business Economics, or Finance, though selecting a second commerce major may result in more UOC required for degree completion.
Yes. The Bachelor of Actuarial Studies provides a strong foundation for becoming an actuary or working within a related field. You can earn exemptions from the Actuaries Institute's Foundation Program in Australia or VEE credit from the Society of Actuaries (USA).
For domestic students in a Commonwealth Supported Place, the 2026 indicative first year full fee is $13,500 and the indicative full fee to complete the degree is $57,500. For international students, the 2026 indicative first year full fee is $58,000 and the indicative full fee to complete the degree is $251,500. Fees are subject to annual review and may vary.
