Bachelor of Actuarial Studies/Bachelor of Science

You will complete both an Actuarial Studies major and a Computer Science major. Actuarial Studies majors include Computational Data Science, Actuarial Risk Management & Analytics, and Quantitative Data Science. Computer Science majors include Artificial Intelligence, Computer Networks, Computer Science, Database Systems, Embedded Systems, Programming Languages, and Security Engineering.

The degree is a four-year double degree program consisting of 32 courses. In the first year, students study 4 Level 1 Actuarial Studies core courses and 4 Computer Science core courses. In the second year, students take 2 Level 1 and 2 Level 2 Actuarial Studies core courses plus 4 Computer Science core courses. In the third year, students complete 1 Level 2 and 3 Level 3 Actuarial Studies core courses and 4 Computer Science core courses. In the fourth year, students finish 1 Level 3 Actuarial Studies core course, 4 Computer Science elective courses, and 2 Business elective courses.

Yes. The degree holds Australian Computer Society accreditation at the level of Professional for the Computer Science component, and Institute of Actuaries Australia accreditation for the Actuarial Studies component. There are also pathways to US and UK Actuarial accreditation.

For domestic students in a Commonwealth Supported Place, the 2026 indicative first year full fee is $11,500 and the indicative full fee to complete the degree is $49,000. For international students, the 2026 indicative first year full fee is $59,500 and the indicative full fee to complete the degree is $257,500. These fees are for tuition only and are subject to annual review.
