The Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours)/Bachelor of Fine Arts is a double degree that you can complete in five years with full-time study. You'll complete a minimum of 240 units of credit (UOC) through a combination of majors, minors and electives.
In the Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours), you can choose from 25 majors including Advanced Physics, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Earth Science, Genetics, Marine and Coastal Science, Mathematics, Neuroscience, and more. In the Bachelor of Fine Arts, you'll have your pick of seven distinctive specialisations including animation and moving image, art theory, music, and visual arts.

UNSW offers several adjustment factor schemes: the HSC Plus scheme rewards students who perform well in relevant Year 12 subjects (up to 5 points); the Elite Athletes, Performers and Leaders (EAPL) program recognises elite achievements in sport, academia, leadership and music (up to 5 points); the Educational Access Scheme (EAS) recognises disadvantages such as illness, financial hardship or language difficulties (between 1 and 10 points); and the Gateway Admission Pathway offers reduced ATAR entry requirements for students from Gateway schools, low-socioeconomic areas, Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander backgrounds, or those with eligible humanitarian or protection visas.
Students can bridge the gap between study and employment through Work Integrated Learning (WIL) and Research Integrated Learning (RIL) opportunities, which allow them to explore different career paths and apply skills professionally while being guided by world-leading academics. The degree also incorporates industry experiences such as exhibitions, screenings, studio internships, performances and ensembles. Additionally, UNSW offers an eight-week science work placement in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and international student exchange opportunities with over 300 partner universities.
