Common Questions
All applicants, whether domestic or international, must provide evidence that their English language ability meets the minimum UNSW English Language Requirements. This can be demonstrated through English Language Tests (such as IELTS or PTE, with results verifiable by UNSW), prior study in the medium of English, or other approved qualifications.
International applicants must complete the Financial Declaration Form and demonstrate the ability to financially support themselves (and any dependants) for the duration of their studies. This can be through a UNSW scholarship, an alternative external scholarship or sponsorship, or self-funding supported by evidence such as bank statements from the last 6 months showing sufficient cash deposits.
New candidates are expected to enrol by the Term Start Date. For 2026, key terms begin on 16 February (Term 1), 1 June (Term 2), and 14 September (Term 3). New enrolments can commence up to approximately six weeks before the term start date, and enrolment is not permitted after the census date has passed.
Yes, deferral of up to one year after the initial offer term may be requested. Deferrals are only approved where conditions are met, including continuing to meet UNSW entry requirements and availability of supervision and resources. If you have a conditional offer, you should email the Graduate Research School; if you have an unconditional offer, you can request deferral through Accept Online.
Accepting an offer online is a two-part process. In Part I, you accept or defer your offer of admission (and scholarship if applicable) through Accept Online to secure your place; international applicants may be required to pay a tuition fee deposit at this stage. In Part II, you confirm your personal details and complete the Financial and Student Declaration sections, which should only be completed once you are ready to arrive and enrol. Scholarship recipients must accept or defer within 2 weeks of receiving their unconditional offer, while admission-only recipients have 1 month.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
