Bachelor of Agribusiness

Graduates of the Bachelor of Agribusiness are prepared for careers in agriculture, banking and finance, commodity trading, consultancy, and government/policy. Specific roles include commodity trade analyst, business consultant, policy analyst, marketing coordinator, production supervisor, farm manager, and financial analyst. Graduates can also pursue further study in a Master of Agribusiness, Master of Agricultural Economics, or a PhD in Agricultural Economics.

The degree consists of 12 core units in the business and economics of agriculture, along with electives that allow students to pursue interests in other areas related to agriculture and business, or something completely different. Students can also choose majors, and there is an extended major option that combines agribusiness with Agricultural Science.

Yes. UWA offers an Assured Pathway program that gives students an assured place in postgraduate professional courses from the start of their undergraduate studies. On completion of the Bachelor of Agribusiness, graduates can also pursue the Master of Agribusiness, Master of Agricultural Economics, or a PhD in Agricultural Economics.

The degree offers Work Integrated Learning (WIL) opportunities to help bridge the gap between theory and practice. Students can enrol in SCIE2205 Science Work Placement Unit or SCIE2206 Science Consultancy Project to gain hands-on, practical industry-relevant experience. These units are available to all science undergraduate students.

Students also have opportunities for fieldwork across Western Australia and beyond, and can attend international summits and events related to global agricultural challenges.
