Common Questions
Yes. If you decide not to continue in the combined bachelor's and master's (CBM) program, you can exit after three years with a Bachelor of Agribusiness (Advanced). Note that the Advanced Bachelor Degree is available only as a CBM exit award — it is not offered for direct enrolment and is not awarded on completion of the full CBM.
The master's component of the course will give you an appreciation of key elements of agricultural economics, with the overall emphasis on the application of theory to real world circumstances. The core themes are: applied economic analysis, policy analysis, and agribusiness management and analysis.
Work Integrated Learning (WIL) helps bridge the gap between theory and practice. Students can develop employability skills through a science work placement via two available units: SCIE2205 Science Work Placement Unit and SCIE2206 Science Consultancy Project. These are available to all science undergraduate students looking to gain practical, hands-on industry relevant experience.
Students have access to the UWA Plant Growth Facility (PGF), which consists of 19 greenhouses, 8 phytotrons, 29 plant growth rooms and 8 plant growth cabinets, allowing experiments under controlled conditions. Additionally, the Shenton Park Field Station, located 7 kilometres from the Crawley Campus, is a large-scale agricultural research facility that supports broader scale experiments with crop, pasture, horticultural or native plants in real-world conditions.
Over the first three years, students complete an extended major in Agricultural Science and Agribusiness along with some units from the Master of Agricultural Economics. The fourth year consists of a full year of postgraduate study in the Master of Agricultural Economics. Upon completing the full four years, students are awarded both a Bachelor of Agribusiness and a Master of Agricultural Economics.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
