You can select one of eight cognate majors, with examples including agricultural economics, animal production, food science, and soil science and hydrology, allowing you to achieve disciplinary depth in your chosen area.
In your Honours year, you will plan, execute, analyse and communicate a significant piece of individual research work in your area of disciplinary strength. You will also have access to immersive placement and internship opportunities in the agriculture sector, and undertake advanced coursework units exploring the resilience of agricultural systems and emerging high-tech agricultural systems.
This course has cross-cutting knowledge themes of Profitability, Sustainability, Entrepreneurship, and Ethical Behaviour, equipping you with future-focused skills required for professional work in the agriculture sector.
The closing date for Semester 1 applications is 31 January of the commencing year. Note that separate deadlines apply for scholarship applications.
You will study a broad range of subjects including introductory agricultural science, biology, animal management, agronomy, agricultural economics and business, agricultural markets, statistics and data analysis, genetics, plant protection, biotechnology and digital agriculture, alongside your chosen major.
