Common Questions
No. The introduction of the new Bachelor of Creative Production will not impact your progression through the Animation Production course that you are currently completing. You will still be able to graduate from your current course, and no action is required from you.
The new course design has split some of its 12-credit-point subjects into 6-credit-point subjects, renamed some subjects for easier identification, and changed its 2D and 3D streams in the third year.
Students who commenced before 2025 should refer to the course description in the year they commenced in the Handbook Archives. Students who commenced in 2025 should refer to the 2025 course description via the version dropdown under their course heading in the handbook (change the year dropdown to 2025).
There may be changes to subjects on your study plan. Where possible, UTS is making the same subject offerings to current students so that they get to enjoy the same offerings as new students. Some subjects may have new names and updated content, a small number of subjects have been replaced, and in addition to all usual electives, there will also be some new options available.
From 2026, students wishing to study Animation at UTS will apply to undertake a Bachelor of Creative Production in Animation, which was developed in response to student and industry feedback and as part of UTS's normal five-year course reaccreditation cycle.
