Common Questions
No, the Bachelor of Applied Data Science is not a stand-alone degree. It is designed to be undertaken as an add-on degree in combination with any Bachelor degree offered at Western Sydney University. To graduate, you must have completed all requirements from your first Bachelor's degree, as well as the 80 credit points required for this program.
The duration of this program is 1 year, to be completed after the requirements for your first Bachelor degree. For example, if your first Bachelor degree is 3 years, the Bachelor of Applied Data Science will add 1 year to your study, making the total study time 4 years. Similarly, if your first Bachelor degree is 4 years, then your total study time will be 5 years.
To be eligible for admission, a student must attain a minimum ATAR of 75, or the equivalent rank for their primary undergraduate degree. Recommended studies include Mathematics and Computing/IT, with assumed knowledge of Mathematics equivalent to 2 Unit HSC. Students must also have completed all requirements for another bachelor's degree in order to graduate with the Bachelor of Applied Data Science.
This program teaches a blend of skills from mathematics, statistics, and computing. Graduates will know how to embark on data-driven investigations and conduct visual and computational analytics for application in their own primary discipline.
The indicative annual fee starts from $11,885 for domestic students. A Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) is available for domestic students, meaning the Australian Government pays part of your fees, reducing your overall cost. Please note that these estimates are indicative only and subject to change, and do not include the Student Services and Amenities Fee.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
